Kirk, the Dutch word for church, sort of became the theme for the day. First we paid a visit to Basilica of St. Nicolas -Santa Clause if you prefer.

Then dropped by the Oude Kirk and when they say oude [old] they aren’t kidding, built 801 years ago in 1213, originally as a Catholic church, it was stolen by the protestants during the Reformation in the 1500s and never returned…

The rest of the day, inspired by the enormous fabric market right here yesterday, we went and found the daily monster flea markets at Waterloopsplein and Albert Cuyp markets… Amazing how many vendors this city can support!
