So there we were driving a few hours south from Santa Cruz when we pass a big sign promoting Monterey County Wines, so I asked Jane if she thought we’ve ever heard of any Monterey Wineries, to which she said, “Well there is Scheid Vineyards”. So she Googles it and it was 3 miles straight ahead… We had to visit. Al Scheid, no relation, first purchased property in Monterey County in early 1972. The wine didn’t really float our boat.
