Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge is a coastal salt marsh along the south-central coast of Maui. The refuge is located between the towns of Kihei and Maalaea, on both sides of North Kihei Road. At various times during the year you can see nothing but mud-flats from up here. Surprisingly while it is very low, it wasn’t empty today -despite the drought.
Side note: we’ve gotten a total of about 1/2″ in the last 4 months!
The highlight of the beach stroll might have been talking to the last fisherman whose response to “Any luck?” was a chortle and “They call it fishing, they don’t call it catching!” LOL
Shocking I know, but I actually left not just the office, but the house and even the neighborhood! We talked about it and think it may have been the first time in a year [longer] that we went somewhere just for fun, no recycling, no shopping, just fun..
Yay! Looks like a great trip.
