There’s nothing really to say about such an event, it is so much more than just a milestone, or a birthday.. The pictures tell the story better than I could.. We began at Starbucks where anyone can get a free cup of coffee for their birthday.. But Betty got salutations and affection from every employee there it seemed like.. And to cap it off, the manager came in on his day off just to deliver flowers, a balloon and give her a hug! It was very sweet..

Then off to the car wash for a free car wash, interior vacuum and tire shining!

Port Loma’s Submarine Base and then onto Cabrillo National Monument and Light House

The celebration continued on Friday with a trip up to Julian Ca. an adorable little old mining town. We had no choice but to have lunch at The Miner’s Diner -which was born on the same year as Betty, 1928!

There was enough eye-candy to keep us enthralled for quite a while!

Julian hosts the renowned BirdWatchers store and inside was, among hundreds of other related ‘birder’ goodies,  a terrific collection of unique bird houses.
